Steve was born and raised in Mott, North Dakota graduating from Mott Lincoln High School in 1976. Steve went on to the University of Mary as a freshmen but transferred to Dickinson State University graduating in 1981 with a bachelors degree in elementary education.
Steve spent the first five years of his professional career teaching and coaching girls and boys basketball in Beach, North Dakota. Steve moved on to Trinity High School in the fall of 1986. Steve taught junior high school studies and coached boys and girls basketball for fifteen years before transitioning out of the classroom in January of 2001, and taking the Development Director position at Trinity Junior High and High School. Steve oversaw all fundraising - including the annual fund and all special events. In his role as development director, Steve also headed-up the 2002 Capital Campaign.
In February of 2006 Steve left Trinity Junior High and High School to become the Director of Enrollment Services at Dickinson State University. Steve served in that capacity until 2009 when he became the Executive Director of Dickinson State University's Strom Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Steve led the Strom Center until February of 2012 when he took a position at American Bank Center in Dickinson. Steve served as a Credit Analyst for six months before taking on the role of Marketing Manager for American Bancor. While at American Bancor, Steve was responsible for the marketing of the entire organization which includes banking, insurance, and trust at all of the locations throughout the state of North Dakota and Glendive, Montana.
Steve became the first President of Trinity Catholic Schools on February 21, 2014. Steve has three children: Tyler (Maria), Chad (Brittni), and Mackenzie (Aaron), and is the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren.
