Marya and her husband, Jeff, have two daughters attending Trinity Catholic Schools. Hetta is a 7th grader and Harper is in the 10th grade. Marya has been an active supporter of Trinity Catholic Schools as a Fall Gala committee member, Student Congress advisor, Fine Arts Booster and Mardi Gras Booth Captain. The Skaares are members of St. Joseph parish, where Marya also serves as a Lector. A dedicated community member, she currently serves on the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Chamber Government Relations Committee, and is the current President of the DSU Rodeo Council. In addition, she serves on the SW CTE Taskforce and is a member of Dickinson Noon Lions Club, Rotary, Eagles Auxiliary, P.E.O. Sisterhood, and is a past member of the ND Workforce Development Council and former Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies at Williston State.
While serving as the Director of Communication & Recruitment at MBI Energy Services and in her most current role as the Director of the CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson Foundation, Marya has demonstrated vision and leadership while advancing the mission of each organization. A current member of the Leadership ND cohort with the University of Mary, she is passionate about servant leadership and developing strong networks of support through community engagement and relationship building. With a Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communication from Emerson College and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and Advertising from University of Jamestown, Marya brings a diversity of industry experience with her marketing and communication background--ranging from energy, insurance, education and nonprofit--to the office of the President at Trinity Catholic Schools.
