JoLyn Tessier grew up on a farm south of South Heart, ND and attended grades 1 through 12 in South Heart. JoLyn graduated from Dickinson State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a concentration in kindergarten. Currently, JoLyn is attaining her Masters Degree in Elementary Administration at the University of Mary.
JoLyn’s teaching experience spans twenty years. She was a Title I teacher for one year in Richardton, ND. Nineteen years of her teaching career were with Dickinson Public Schools where she taught nine years in kindergarten and ten years in third grade. JoLyn has supervised and mentored Dickinson State University Student Teachers throughout her teaching career and was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for Jefferson Elementary in 2010-2011 and 2008-2009 school years.
JoLyn and her husband of 23 years, Craig, have two children Matthew and Breanna who attend Trinity High School. Currently, JoLyn is serving on the Trinity Mardi Gras Committee, a seven-year commitment that began in 2010 and will conclude in 2016.
